Calix has appointed Juergen Lindner as Chief Marketing Officer, bringing a technology marketing executive with experience across product, go-to-market strategy, and business transformation into the company’s marketing leadership.

Lindner joins Calix after leadership roles at SAP, Oracle, and ServiceNow, where he worked on global marketing organizations and technology transitions. At ServiceNow, he was involved in the company’s agentic AI efforts, giving him experience in translating emerging technology into business and go-to-market strategies.

At Calix, Lindner will lead the marketing organization as the company continues developing its AI-native Calix One platform and expanding its focus on agentic AI. The platform brings together appliances, cloud software, and AI-powered workflows for service providers. Calix says more than 1,200 customers use the platform, which has been developed over a 15-year digital transformation effort.

The appointment comes as technology companies face a broader challenge around AI positioning. As AI capabilities become more common across enterprise software, marketing teams are increasingly expected to move beyond communicating technical features and demonstrate how those capabilities translate into measurable business outcomes.

Lindner’s remit places this challenge at the center of Calix’s marketing strategy. His experience across product marketing, go-to-market leadership, and business transformation aligns with the growing need to connect technology development with customer needs and commercial outcomes.

“Access to AI by itself is no longer a durable advantage. The ability to turn AI into outcomes is,” Lindner said. He added that organizations need the right architecture, governance, and operational foundation to turn AI investments into measurable impact.

For B2B marketers, the appointment reflects a wider shift in technology marketing. As AI becomes embedded in enterprise products, communicating practical outcomes, building market understanding, and connecting product strategy with customer priorities are becoming increasingly important parts of the CMO role.
