Carat has named Sarah Stringer as Global Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer, creating a new global leadership role focused on strategy, innovation, and emerging opportunities across the media agency.

Stringer brings experience across innovation, platform partnerships, media, and the creator economy. She previously held a leadership role in innovation at Carat, where her work included developing the agency’s approach to emerging areas of media and marketing.

In her new position, Stringer will work under Chrissie Hanson, Carat’s Global Brand President and North America Media Practice CEO. The role brings strategy and innovation together at a time when media planning is increasingly shaped by changing consumer behavior, new platforms, data, technology, and evolving forms of content.

Carat said the newly created position is intended to connect culture, innovation, and emerging opportunities with intelligence, evidence, and behavioral insights used in media planning.

The appointment comes as media agencies continue to expand their strategy functions beyond traditional channel planning. The growth of AI, creator-led media, commerce platforms, and fragmented audience environments is creating new requirements for teams that develop media strategies and identify emerging opportunities.

Stringer’s background across innovation and platform partnerships aligns with this changing environment, particularly as media organizations increasingly evaluate how new technologies and consumer behaviors affect planning and audience engagement.

Carat operates as part of dentsu and provides media planning, buying, strategy, data, analytics, and related services across global markets. The agency currently operates in more than 100 countries with more than 12,000 experts, according to its company profile.

Stringer’s appointment adds dedicated global leadership for strategy and innovation as Carat continues to adapt its media planning capabilities to a market shaped by technological change, new platforms, and shifting audience behavior.
