Dale Finlay Joins Anthropic as General Manager of ASEAN

Anthropic has appointed Dale Finlay as General Manager of ASEAN, adding regional leadership as the AI company prepares to expand its presence in Southeast Asia.

Based in Singapore, Finlay will work with customers and partners across the ASEAN region. His appointment coincides with Anthropic’s plan to open a new Singapore office in October, its fifth office in Asia-Pacific after locations in Tokyo, Bengaluru, Seoul, and Sydney.

Finlay brings experience in enterprise technology and AI-focused go-to-market leadership across Asia-Pacific. He spent nearly a decade at Google Cloud in roles covering enterprise, financial services, and AI. His recent career experience also includes go-to-market work in Singapore.

In his new position, Finlay will oversee Anthropic’s work with organizations and partners across Southeast Asia. The role comes as businesses in the region explore the use of generative AI across enterprise operations, financial services, government, and other sectors.

Singapore is a particular focus for Anthropic. According to the company’s latest Economic Index, the country ranked second among 121 countries for Claude.ai usage relative to population, with usage reported at 5.81 times the level expected based on its population size. Anthropic said demand has been particularly strong among regulated industries, including financial services and government.

The company plans to work with organizations ranging from startups and digital-native businesses to large enterprises and public-sector institutions. It is also hiring locally across areas including sales, marketing, finance, applied AI, and economic research.

Finlay’s appointment therefore places regional customer engagement and commercial operations at the center of Anthropic’s ASEAN strategy as the company builds a local presence in Singapore and expands its work across Southeast Asia.
