Jason Fournier has joined Palo Alto Networks as Vice President of Marketing, taking on responsibility for building out the company’s Brand Marketing and Creative functions.
Fournier announced the move on LinkedIn, marking a new chapter following his time at Google. In his post, he reflected on his experience at Google, highlighting the colleagues, relationships and work that shaped his career there.
Before joining Palo Alto Networks, Fournier served as a Global Marketing Director at Google, where his background included integrated marketing across technology and consumer brands. In his new role, Fournier will focus on Brand Marketing and Creative at Palo Alto Networks. The appointment comes as cybersecurity companies increasingly need to communicate complex technology and security issues to a broader mix of business and technology audiences.
For marketing teams in the cybersecurity sector, this creates a particular challenge: translating technical capabilities and emerging areas such as AI-driven security into clear brand narratives without losing credibility with technically informed buyers.
Fournier’s move also reflects the broader movement of experienced technology marketers between major platforms and specialized technology companies. His experience at Google brings a background in integrated marketing, while his new position places greater emphasis on brand and creative functions within the cybersecurity industry.
The appointment is also taking place during a period of significant change for Palo Alto Networks. The company has recently expanded its cybersecurity portfolio through acquisitions, including CyberArk, while its leadership has highlighted the growing impact of artificial intelligence on the security landscape.
For Fournier, the role represents a shift from marketing within a global technology platform to leading brand and creative initiatives within cybersecurity.
