Meta Names Chirantan Desai as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer

Meta has named Chirantan “CJ” Desai as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer, placing him at the helm of the company’s newly established enterprise business. Desai will report directly to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and will lead efforts to bring Meta’s AI technologies to businesses and developers.

The appointment comes alongside the launch of Meta Enterprise Platform, a new business initiative focused on making Meta’s AI models, agents, infrastructure, and related technology available to enterprise customers. The initial portfolio includes products such as the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, and Muse Code.

Desai joins Meta from MongoDB, where he served as President and CEO before stepping down on September 28. Prior to MongoDB, he was President of Product and Engineering at Cloudflare. He also spent nearly eight years at ServiceNow, holding senior positions including President and COO. Earlier in his career, Desai held leadership roles at EMC, Symantec, and Oracle, building experience across enterprise software, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and product development.

At Meta, Desai’s role will focus on translating the company’s AI capabilities into products and services that businesses can deploy. Meta said the enterprise platform will initially bring its broader technology stack to businesses and developers, while incorporating security and privacy into its enterprise products from the outset.

The move reflects Meta’s expanding focus on enterprise AI as technology companies increasingly look beyond consumer applications and advertising to serve business customers. With Desai overseeing the new division, Meta is establishing a dedicated leadership structure for taking its AI infrastructure and applications into enterprise environments.
