Darktrace has promoted Jeff Tracy to Vice President, Renewals, expanding his responsibilities within the cybersecurity company’s customer organization.

Tracy has been with Darktrace for several years and has held roles across customer-facing and commercial functions. In his new position, he will focus on the company’s renewals organization, working around customer retention, contract renewals, and ongoing relationships with existing customers.

The move comes as recurring revenue and customer retention remain important areas for enterprise technology companies. As organizations manage increasingly complex cybersecurity environments, vendors are also placing greater attention on helping existing customers continue using and expanding their technology investments.

Renewals teams sit at the intersection of sales, customer success, and account management. Their work typically involves understanding customer requirements, managing contract cycles, and coordinating with internal teams to address issues that could affect renewal decisions.

Tracy’s appointment also comes as Darktrace continues to expand its focus on securing organizations as artificial intelligence becomes more widely integrated into enterprise environments. The company has recently announced developments around protecting AI agents, people, and infrastructure, reflecting the changing requirements of enterprise cybersecurity.

Darktrace’s current executive structure includes dedicated leadership across sales, customer, marketing, partnerships, and strategy, with Beth Shea serving as Chief Customer Officer and Michael McGuinness as Chief Revenue Officer.

For Tracy, the new role places renewals at the center of his responsibilities as organizations increasingly evaluate cybersecurity investments based not only on new capabilities but also on continued business value and customer needs.

The promotion reflects a broader shift among enterprise technology companies toward treating renewals as an ongoing part of customer relationships rather than simply a contractual milestone. As technology budgets face greater scrutiny, maintaining existing customer relationships and demonstrating continued value have become increasingly important to recurring-revenue businesses.
