Emma Chalwin Named Chief Marketing Officer at Accenture

Accenture has appointed Emma Chalwin as Chief Marketing Officer. In the role, Chalwin will oversee the company’s global marketing and communications organizations and report to Accenture Chair and CEO Julie Sweet.
Chalwin joins Accenture from Workday, where she served as Chief Marketing Officer and was responsible for global brand development and customer demand. She brings more than 30 years of marketing leadership experience across enterprise technology companies, including senior roles at Salesforce, Adobe, McAfee, and Macrovision.
Her appointment comes at a time when the role of marketing within technology companies is changing. AI is influencing how organizations develop products, communicate value, engage customers, and approach demand generation. For large B2B businesses, marketing is increasingly expected to connect brand activity with measurable commercial outcomes.

Chalwin's background spans both brand and demand generation, including her previous work at Salesforce, where she led global field marketing and go-to-market initiatives. At Workday, she focused on building the brand and driving customer demand across international markets.
At Accenture, that experience will extend across a global organization operating at the intersection of consulting, technology, business transformation, data, and AI. The company has increasingly centered its market messaging around how businesses are adapting to AI and broader technology shifts.
For the marketing industry, the appointment also reflects the continued evolution of the CMO role. Marketing leaders are being asked to balance brand building with pipeline, customer engagement, data, and technology while navigating faster changes in how businesses reach and influence buyers.
Chalwin said her focus at Accenture will include shaping the company's next phase of growth, building market influence, and using AI while maintaining human connection in marketing.
