Initiative UK Names Sharon Dhillon as CEO

Initiative UK has named Sharon Dhillon as Chief Executive Officer, expanding her leadership responsibilities at the media agency as the industry continues to adapt to changing audience behavior, technology, and media consumption.
Dhillon has been part of Initiative UK’s leadership team as Managing Director, where she has been responsible for client relationships while helping lead the agency and its leadership team. Industry profiles also identify her previous role as Chief Client Officer at Mindshare, giving her experience across client leadership and media agency operations.
Her move into the CEO role comes at a time when media agencies are managing increasingly complex relationships between brands, audiences, data, technology, and media platforms. The role of agency leadership has expanded beyond campaign delivery to include business strategy, client partnerships, talent, technology adoption, and the changing economics of media.

Initiative UK operates within the wider Initiative network, which has a presence across more than 90 markets. The agency works across media planning, strategy, data, and consumer experience, with UK clients including brands such as Nike, NatWest, Volvo, and Deliveroo.
Dhillon’s leadership transition also follows a period of significant activity for Initiative UK. The agency has recently received industry recognition for work involving data, AI, media strategy, gaming, content, and digital experiences. Its NatWest Savings Index work, for example, was recognised at Cannes for Media Insights & Strategy and involved the use of AI and large language models.
The appointment places Dhillon at the center of Initiative UK’s next phase as media agencies continue to respond to changes in AI, consumer behavior, measurement, and the growing integration of technology into media planning and activation.
Her expanded remit brings client leadership and agency management together at a time when UK media businesses are increasingly expected to connect strategic thinking with measurable business outcomes.
