Shopsense AI has appointed Alan Lewis as Chief Product Officer, strengthening its product leadership as the company develops its AI-driven approach to connecting content and commerce.

Lewis brings more than two decades of product leadership experience across commerce, advertising, and enterprise technology. Before joining Shopsense AI, he was part of the founding team of Amazon Marketing Cloud, where he helped develop the enterprise data platform. He has also held senior product roles at eBay, Alibaba, and Realtor.com.

In his new role, Lewis will oversee Shopsense AI’s product vision and roadmap, translating customer requirements and market developments into product priorities. His background in commerce and advertising technology comes as the relationship between media, content, and shopping continues to evolve.

The company is also making two internal leadership changes. Sam Gottlieb, a founding engineer, has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer, while Dharmil Chandarana, another member of the founding team, has been appointed the company’s first Principal Scientist. Gottlieb will lead the combined engineering and science organization, while Chandarana will oversee the technical direction and implementation of the company’s Shoppable Intelligence Model (SIM).

The leadership changes come as Shopsense AI works toward expanding API-level integrations around SIM. The company launched the model in June 2026 as a multimodal AI system designed to understand products, content, and shopping intent in real time.

The developments reflect a broader shift in the marketing and commerce technology landscape. Content is increasingly becoming part of the shopping journey, with publishers, broadcasters, retailers, and brands exploring ways to connect product discovery with editorial, video, and other consumer experiences.

For MarTech and AdTech teams, this convergence creates new questions around product data, audience intent, personalization, measurement, and the infrastructure required to connect media experiences with commerce.

AI is playing an increasingly important role in this process, particularly in identifying products within content, matching consumer intent with relevant products, and automating elements of commerce activation.

Lewis’s appointment, alongside the internal promotions of Gottlieb and Chandarana, gives Shopsense AI dedicated leadership across product, engineering, and applied science as it continues developing its commerce technology infrastructure.

The moves highlight how the boundaries between content, advertising, retail media, and commerce technology are continuing to narrow.
