WPP Media Names Nick Carpino as Data Growth Lead

WPP Media has appointed Nick Carpino as Data Growth Lead, adding to its leadership as the company continues to strengthen the role of data and technology across its media operations.
Carpino’s appointment comes at a time when data has become central to how agencies plan campaigns, understand audiences, measure performance, and identify opportunities for clients. As advertisers manage increasingly fragmented media environments, the ability to connect audience insights with activation and measurement is becoming an important part of media strategy.
WPP Media operates as WPP’s global media business, bringing together media, data, technology, commerce, and production capabilities. The company launched its integrated structure in 2025, replacing GroupM as the name for WPP’s global media collective. Its operating model is designed to connect these capabilities through WPP Open, the company’s AI-enabled marketing platform.

The Data Growth Lead position sits within a broader industry shift toward data-led decision-making. Brands are increasingly looking beyond traditional campaign metrics to understand customer behaviour, improve audience targeting, and link marketing investments more closely with business outcomes. This has also increased demand for leadership that can connect data capabilities with commercial and client growth priorities.
For media agencies, data strategy now extends beyond analytics. It involves building stronger connections between platforms, technology partners, audience intelligence, and campaign execution. These capabilities are becoming particularly relevant as AI changes how marketing teams process information and make decisions.
